
Mahindra opens R&D center in UK / Moto News / BikePost
The Indian company invests heavily in product development for Europeans.
Mahindra is renowned worldwide for its heavy industry equipment. One of the division also deals with motorcycles, which are very popular in India. Management plans to expand its product range, therefore opening a research and development center in the West Midlands, UK. The new facility is called Mahindra Advanced Design Europe (MADE). This is the second such Mahindra center in Europe and is part of a global design network headquartered in Mumbai. In addition, Indians are collaborating with Pininfarina Design in Italy.
Rajesh Jejurikar, CEO of Mahindra Ltd., stated: “Mahindra is poised to enter a new era to further develop our 75-year history in the transportation segment to create unique products targeted at customers in India and around the world. A key area in preparing our business for the future is to significantly strengthen design resources for the development of automobiles, agricultural and two-wheeled vehicles. “
Mahindra plans to launch new products for the European market as soon as possible. At the moment, the brand has no weight outside of India, but that could change that.
